Government jobs in Kenya

About government jobs in Kenya

Public sector jobs are advertised by different bodies: the Public Service Commission (PSC) for ministries and state departments, each of the 47 County Public Service Boards for county jobs, and state corporations, universities and commissions for their own posts. We collect them in one place and link to the official application page.

Government adverts are strict: shortlisting is done against the exact qualifications, experience and documents listed. Read the whole advert, fill in every field of the online form and apply well before the deadline.

Documents you will usually need

Shortlisted candidates are normally asked for the Chapter Six clearances: a KRA Tax Compliance Certificate, a Certificate of Good Conduct, HELB and CRB clearance, and the EACC self-declaration form. Some take time, so start early. Read our full guide on how to apply for government jobs in Kenya.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I find genuine government jobs in Kenya?

On the official website of the hiring body (the PSC, a County Public Service Board or a state corporation) and in the daily newspapers. JobsToGrab lists verified government vacancies from these official sources and links to the official application page.

Do I need to pay to get a government job?

No. The Public Service Commission states that it charges no fees at any stage of recruitment. Anyone asking for money to secure a government job is a fraudster.

What clearances do government jobs require?

Usually a KRA Tax Compliance Certificate, a Certificate of Good Conduct, HELB and CRB clearance, and the EACC self-declaration form. Check each advert for the exact list.
